Formal intro
« on: January 24, 2023, 09:59:48 PM »
Hi, my name is Cody and I have recently been posting pics on my 28 year odyssey of getting my 78 W72 4 speed back together. It's in the projects section under "my project". Well I was making decent progress and then another stumbling block occurred. Last Wednesday I was on the ladder in my shop getting some parts down from the loft and it just flew out from under me and I was on my butt from 12' before I knew what happened. It has now been a week out of the hospital with some new SS hardware in my pelvis. I am doing well and on road to recovery so should be posting more pics in a few months. Thanks for listening and I will still be on here looking for more great tips and how to's. This is a picture of the car just so you know who's tied to it

Hey Cody! Wow, that's crazy. It is amazing how an injury can really immobilize a person. I cut the back of my leg really bad a couple years back and couldn't walk very well and nothing got done for a few months. I can't imagine having to be screwd back together. Good luck and speedy recovery!

Welcome Cody, sorry to hear about your accident, but its a good reminder for us all to be careful whenever we are doing dangerous things. And yes ladder falls are way too common and dangerous.
I had an employee on a roof. I went to the front of the house and heard commotion and a scream. Went out back to see the fellow laying on the ground in pain. He tried to climb down the ladder with out the help of someone footing it (which has always been our policy) and the bottom slipped out. Like you, he fell about 10ft. landed squarely on his heel breaking it in half. He was laid up for almost a year exactly.
I hope your recovery is much better, I look forward to the progress on your car.
Finished!

Cody, I hope you have a speedy recovery! Looking forward to seeing progress on your build.

Besides being members of TAC, we have something in common. I used to own a 1978 W72 TA. Unfortunately, I had a mishap falling off a 28' extension ladder many years ago and have screws in my leg.

Thanks all! I have an appointment with surgeon this Tuesday so I will give update on my progress after that. I'm feeling pretty good and fairly mobile with the walker and wheelchair.
