Front tire fitment.
« on: February 17, 2022, 08:24:10 PM »
Wondering if anyone has had any luck fitting a 255/60/15 up front on a second gen? Gonna need new tires soon and want to put a bigger tire than the 235 that’s on it at the moment.

295's will fit on the front. I'm running 335's with a 4link and tubs on the rear.

I've got 255 on a 19" in the front.

255/what-19, you have to give the aspect ratio or those numbers are meaningless.

nice! thanks for the info, i remember seeing a thread like this that was lost from wayyy back when. 255 in the front and trying to talk myself into committing to et streets in the back. traction is hard to find with the current tires.

255/60/15's  look nice in the front, but I seem to have extra room in the back wells.  Will 275/60 15 fit the rear?

Thanks

Yes, I have them on a set at the moment, handle like a steamroller though and are tall. Still room to go even wider on mine.
That's the problem with going the same size tyre all round on these cars, the wheel arches are not the same like modern cars and the wider front track exaggerates it even more.
