Horn issue
« on: November 06, 2023, 02:56:13 AM »
Hi all,

I have an issue. The horn just stops working.
If that happens I have to pull the steering off and then fiddle a bit and it will work again.

By the looks of it, there are two copper plunger type thingies. The first one is just behind the horn cover with a spring inside. That one seems fine.
When I pull the steering wheel off and remove the lock ring, it looks like there is a second contact plunger. This one looks like it has a spring inside that keeps getting stuck. If I fiddle with it, it pops back out. The horn will when work again for a toot and then stop.

Problem is, I don't know how to get to this plunger to replace the spring. I can't see what to loosen to get to it.
Any advise and pics will be appreciated.

Thanks

Probably need to replace the horn contact. Ames sells a kit . It has new spring , contact pin and holder. Also check with Second Gen Graveyard as well , they sell them as well.
