Hagley Museum in Delaware
« on: September 13, 2023, 06:05:10 AM »
There is a large show this coming Sunday 9/17 at the Hagley museum in De. Anyone close should stop by, I have registered my 77 to show. Hagley dates to the 18th century and was originally a powder mill, birthplace of the Dupont co.

2 callaway vettes. These are pretty special cars for what they are. Same owner and she told me she has another white one at home.

Very nice assortment of cars. Some rare Pontiacs too, the SSJ GP and the 74 SD Formula with a body color vinyl top. That Formula is literally a rare bird.

I also like the 69 AMX. Many years ago I had the opportunity to drive one of these with a built-up engine. What a thrill!

I wondered if anyone would pick up on the SD forumula? It was an original condition car as well, absolutely perfect.
They advertised as having 500 cars and I believe it. One of the few shows I have been to that had pay for spectators and there was a field of at least 100 cars there with a steady line to get in. Said to be the biggest show in Delaware. There were 3 large areas for 'general admission' show cars. Thats where I parked. They had another area that was 'premier' cars. That area had an emphasis on amc and packard. The local POCI chapter (i belong to poci but not the local) had their own display which is where the formula, hurst GP and Gto were. They had a great display of about 30 cars on their own. About a dozen food trucks as well. Weather was absolutely beautiful in the morning. They ask that everyone stay until at least 3 pm. I left about 130 before the storms hit, but got caught in them on the way home anyway.
