And remember, Memorial Day wasn't created just so we could have a long weekend, a backyard cookout, a day at the beach...  It is a day set aside to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, so that we can enjoy the mentioned activities.  If you are so inclined, take a moment to remember those who never came home to a bbq or a day at the beach.  Memorial Day is for them.

My father who was a proud Marine , fought in Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima. Every day would put up the American flag in honor of those who sacrificed everything.

Exactly, nothing wrong with enjoying the freedoms these patriots gave us but lets take a moment out of our day to remember those who gave all.
