Dash clock exploded view
« on: April 10, 2023, 06:10:32 PM »
Anybody have one?  Took my early 78 mechanical clock too far apart trying to get it working.  For some reason, it's always the putting stuff back together that causes me trouble.  :-?

I haven't seen one, unless one of those old kits to upgrade to quartz included pictures. There were a couple of magazine articles at the time, think I had one here also if it wasn't the same as a couple online.

Pozarcar, long time no see! Hope all is well with you. Would love to see some pictures of your car again! I think I will start or find the picture thread and get that going again.  I miss seeing all the cars!

Good luck with that clock, unfortunately I don't have anything to add or help.

What about some photos of an assembled clock mechanism, would that help? I’d have to find it but I have my original mechanism in a box

What FormTA said, good to hear from you. I wouldnt begin to think about working on a clock. May be easier to get a replacement pay the $100 or so for a new quartz movement. Growing up my best friends dad did watch and clock repair in his spare time. I wonder how many of those kind of people are out there any more?

Thanks for the greetings guys. This is one more case of me making things worse by no leaving well enough alone!  I have ordered a quartz conversion.

My clock face is a bit marked up, so will post up seeing if anyone has a non-functional clock to sell.  Unless somebody makes good sticker reproductions of the clock face I could just lay over the original. That would be really useful!

The car is looking much the same. I will post some pics once I do some research to figure out how to do it from Google Photos.
