I think I had a woodworking thread before the, you know what. I will do a quick restart. I had a project to replace an exterior door in a 100 year old church building. The original was long gone, the replacement was an interior hollow core with some box store 1x's nailed to the outside. Needless to say it was not constructed well and was rotting. The original jamb was in bad shape from years of guys messing with it, so it needed replaced as well. That ended up being the hardest part of the job.

Good Job! really looks great.
I love wood working as well, i am not expert but i love to work with my hands on anything not just car.
Actually built another garage myself in the fall to continue the trans am restoration.
Now i have all the room i need for all the parts.
Hoping to get back working on the trans am in the srping.

exploded view of the joinery. A bit tricky as the face is flush but the inside is style and rail. This is to look like how the original was made. There was a set of double doors that has survived the century to look at, but I had no idea on how the joinery worked. I had to make that part up.2023-01-04_08-46-23 by Kerry Grubb, on Flickr
The non show side of the rails have a sliding dovetail across the width of the door. I hope this will prevent splitting. The outside of the planks need to move and the inside rails need to stay put.
