Window regulator rollers
« on: October 30, 2022, 03:35:38 AM »
Has anyone replaced the nylon rollers on their window regulators? I'm not talking about the commonly seen ones that suits the glass, but the type originally riveted to the regulator arms. It looks like Dorman may make a set, hard to tell if correct and every seller uses the stock photos that I never trust, and the vague copy and paste description. Some are possibly just the nylon roller, described as plastic, others include the ball stud and require riveting in place, probably.

Thanks, no none of those. They are for the glass and the type I mentioned. I doubt they need replacing, unless one is cracked. But good to know if they exist.

Strangely, the Dorman set includes 3, seemingly the same size, one is threaded, the other two are for rivet in. Yet the original GM has two larger black rollers that match and a slightly smaller white one, all rivet on. A replacement set would be ideal if all were bolt on.

So I wouldn't be surprised also if it suits a hundred vehicles kinda and none exactly. Just conversation at this point. Says HQ-WB also used one of the rollers but they don't seem to exist either. Having said that I only started having a look half an hour ago after digging out a spare regulator set to clean up.

This is one common set that has been mentioned where someone needs to replace a damaged/cracked roller and the threaded version is the one they pick. The stock photos make it appear they are all the same roller and size.

haha I'll look into it. I'll have to measure them and check what tracks they use and see what exists.

It appears that 2 of the 3 rollers are actually identical to this one, which is part of the window glass roller set. But the roller itself isn't really sold separately, so far, or meant to be popped onto a new one.

Got them sorted. Turns out we can get the identical parts for these cheaper than they can in the US.
