Rear shocks replacement
« on: May 08, 2022, 12:50:13 PM »
'78 TA with rear tires 275/60-15 on oem 15x8 flakes. Currently have Gabriel air shocks and want to replace with ACDelco 5305 or equivalent. Wondering if the tires will rub. Anyone using this size tire on a stock suspension without air shocks? Thanks!

I did, same rims and same BFG tyres on stock suspension. No dramas. Had black Delco gas shocks c.2005. Currently sitting on same tyres with lower PTFB suspension and Afco gas shocks but off the road. Plenty of clearance, fits even larger rims and tyres I have stored nearby.  Still nowhere near the seat belt humps also, which are untouched. There may be different results from worn and sagged leafsprings or loaded up rear seat and trunk.
