Preserving GTA left outdoors

(1/1)

Hiya gang,

Since i've recently acquired a '87 GTA, the Y84 and the F/A take up both the garage spots and the GTA kinda just sits outside.

It does have canvas roof over it, but it does get rained on. The car is on a solid cement floor however.

Any tips for protecting it at all? It doesn't really leak and it's a hardtop so I'm hoping the floors aren't going to rust on it. Like, should I be putting WD-40 down the seams and seals? In between the metal and the plastic body kits? Maybe lithium grease down the hatch channels? Is there some product you'd recommend to keep it in good shape maybe a few years longer? The body is actually really presentable on it so hope to keep it that way just a while longer.

Can you get one of those cheap tarp garage structures?

Max, it just needs a 17059263  :P lol

Like mentioned, I would look into those cheap garage tents.  I’m sure there’s something you can get in Australia.

Did you ever get that special radio you were looking for?

Ideal, but not enough room, the car is basically in this car port with not much room for one of those structures. This is how it's basically being parked atm.

They don't call me Max "Number Job" Johnson for nothing  8)

1987 date coded UT4 digital AM/FM Cassette top end unit out of a junkyard for $20! And that 3rd gen guy wanted $300 for one of these! I mean... the original owner's garage where it was meticulously kept in good condition with radio service logbook history   :P
