Headers and Exhaust for my 1979 Trans Am
« on: August 11, 2021, 12:49:29 PM »
Hi Everyone,
I need some help on this.  I have a 1979 Trans am with a 1971 455 with D-port heads.  I am looking to install Hooker super comp headers and the Pypes SGF70 2.5" crossflow with X-pipe system.
There are two sets of headers - the Hooker 4108-1HRK or the 4109-1HRK.  Both are for Pontiac 326-455 motors with D-port heads.
Does anyone have experience with either one of the Hooker headers or the Pypes SGF70 system?  Are there any issues I should be aware of or is there something better I should look at?
Thank you.

you will need to modify the system to suit, regardless of what option you have, plenty of cutting and shutting and moving hangers. You will also need to adapt something to the length, width and bore of your headers.
