My wife laughs when I tell her I am taking all my heavy tools to Lisbon - not joking.  Feel naked without my lathe, mill, welders, etc.

This was the view heading in to work Saturday.  85+ of the gasbags floating about.  Even more this morning even though it was quite cloudy; I sort that it makes them fly better as they are up in the air much longer than normal.  Today's count is around 100+

Insane

Haha, I thought they were bugs too Joe. I had to look closer when I read something about balloons.

I would never be able to go up in those. Trust steering by wind current.... Nope, not for me...

I'm the same way Luke. One of my co-workers from a long time ago was talking about balloon chasing with her husband. When I asked what that was she explained to me that once you are in the air the "driver" has no control over where the balloon goes other than up and down. So they can literally fly into someone's back field and she would track them as they were flying. Then once they land go get them where ever they end up.

Today would be one of those days.

I slept in a bit as I planned to work late and did not want our old GSD's alone for 10+ hours.  As I was loading the truck I noted a helicopter circling - not a good thing.  The main bridge I take was stuffed up from this:

https://www.krqe.com/traffic-roads/balloon-crash-causes-closures-on-paseo-del-norte/

Not everyday you see this on a traffic report...

Noon news has no mention of it so it was most likely a traffic issue.

Last year we had 4 die when a balloon hit some high tension wires; pilot had drugs in his system.

Picked up a 1969 Dodge charge front clip, fenders, hood, trunk lid, front valance, and really nice set of tail lights.

Collecting parts so maybe one day I can build one. I may build a Crown Vic Daytona Charger (ya, I know the purists hate those) if I can'tfind an affordable body (affordable and Mopar don't go together). I think it would be fun to daily driver a wing car.

I also have a lead on a pair of doors. So getting closer.

Luke,

I was always a huge fan of the 68-70 Chargers. Fifty years later, they are still an outstanding looking car! I have seen in Hot Rod where someone put a 68 Charger body on a late model Charger chassis. I guess you could say they had the best of both worlds.

Because of my age, the movie Bullet had the same impact on me as Smokey & the Bandit did for those slightly younger.

Well, today I moved some stuff around in my barn. The plan is to start building the 1949 ford truck. I also moved the 69 charger clip into the barn from my enclosed trailer. I moved the 301 engine from my shop out to the barn as well. It is now within feet of the car it will go into... but the car gods may be upset as it is temporarily between the frame rails of the charge clip....

Threw the fenders and hood on once I got it up to my shop. Not sure if it looks better or worse....

I know the feeling Jack.
Are you saying the rodents are nibbling on your spark plug wires? They must be getting desperate. Specially now that winter is coming. I've had rodent problems, in my 100 yr old farmhouse for yrs. I've tried humane traps, neck snapper traps, mouse hotels, but the best thing that's pretty successful here is a product called "Bait Block". Think I got it at Lowes maybe. Alls I know is it seems to work the best. I've had this bucket for a few yrs now, and when the pests arrive, I put some of these cubes out, they nibble on them, and sometimes carry the whole thing away. Because your vehicles are outside, the car maybe will be constantly bombarded with new mice, so not sure how well it'll work. But "maybe"...

Looks like fun Luke!
Jack, that sucks about the cables. No ideas on help though. I am in the woods and plenty of nuts (present company not included) for the squirrels I guess. Fortunately I havent had any problems. Last summer my truck was running pretty rough so I took it to the shop. Something built a nest in the air breather and it was packed full of insulation, which I conveniently had piled next to the truck. Guy said it was a wonder it ran at all!

Spent the last week in the Rockies  My first time there, absolutely loved it and breathtaking views. I dont ski or do winter stuff, we just went there for the heck of it and because that is one part of the country yet to be seen. Stayed in Breckenridge CO, but did a bit of travelling around. Saw big horn sheep, prong horn antelope, buffalo, elk, moose, a few chipmunks and a couple of squirrels. Weather was warm (50's) when we got there last week, snowed the end of the week. Left for home Sat morning it was snowing and 20deg. Got home to 75deg and humid. Not that I like snow, but I am over this 75 stuff for awhile.

Colorado is beautiful especially if you are a skier, I usually take sometime off and go sight seeing every time I'm there. But it is not the same when you are alone, a lot more enjoyable when you are with your significant other.
