Title: Intermediate steering shaft

So I cannot seem to get the splines to disappear. The shaft will not seat any deeper than in my picture. Is this ok?

I think the pinch bolt needs to be fully removed.  It goes through the "groove" and it can only get in there when it's fully seated.
