I have a 79 Firebird Esprit with a 4.9 4 barrel engine with a factory 4 speed and 3.08 posi. I have the original window sticker and build sheet that supports these factory options. My question- does anyone know the production numbers of Esprits that came with the manual transmission? I'm assuming this Firebird is on the rare side. Thanks for any info.

Looks like about 31,000 units total were produced but I couldn't find much on the exact options yours has. Its more rare in the fact that very few probably exist anymore that either rusted away or were turned into Trans Ams. It's a different and cool car. I'm guessing you're curious about the value?

I was just curious how many 4 speeds Pontiac produced on a 79 Esprit. I can't find any numbers on production numbers. Not really concerned about value. My car needs paint and the only rust issue on the car is the hood. I'll probably throw on a Formula hood because factory hood is not repairable. Thanks for the info though.

Unfortunately there is zero breakdown on Firebird & Firebird Esprit driveline options for 1979 at the moment. The best I can tell you is 6.9% of all Firebirds in 1979 had a 4-speed manual transmission

Ok, thanks for that info.
