Title: secondary interior color silver interior
Post by: 81Resto on April 08, 2025, 07:38:43 PM
I have an 81 trans am with a standard silver interior.

I have been redoing the silver interior panels with medium gray SEM color coat.  What I have been trouble figuring out is what color the dash and console are.  They seem to be a real dark blueish gray.  Or could they have originally been black and are just faded to this point?  I have never come across another silver interior car that was not a tenth anniversary and If I remember correctly they are more of a silver/gray in color.  I appreciate any help in advance, otherwise I will make my best (un)educated guess.

There's a code 15 Dark Grey interior trim, different codes for low gloss or semi gloss.

Roadking, I may be interested.  My old carpet was severely faded, not sure if it should be silver or the slightly darker medium gray though...  I liked the silver because it was different, but doesn't seem to have been super popular, makes it a little tough what the correct color should be just judging off of pictures.

Just as an fyi the SEM colours for the Tenth are 15393 Med Gray for the dark (console and dash) and 15183 Warm Gray for everything else. I have a couple of SEM charts and there are multiple grays, just not sure which are compatible with Pontiac.

As far as the carpet, I dont sell a lot of stuff. But having been able to clean up the original carpet I had, I do not have a need for the one I bought. I literally took it out of the box to compare it to the original. It has never been unfolded! If you become interested just let me know. I can make you a great deal! It is more of a light grey than silver. ACC brand. I am not trying to make a sales pitch but when I saw you were re-doing a silver interior, well.....
I just told my son when I put it back on the shelf that I should sell but I have never seen anyone doing a silver interior, LOL.
