Title: Neutral Safety Switch rebuild
Post by: Dwills on July 03, 2022, 05:01:27 PM
Has anyone rebuilt the neutral safety switch assemble for the 4 speed manual transmission.  I have blasted all the components and will either powder coat of paint them.  The bushings do have some play in them so would love to get new ones but not seeing a lot in the catalogs. SO not sure how to post pics theses days do we have to use a third party sight?

Are you referring to the backdrive and lockout rods but for manual? can post pics on here, haven't checked how but I know it says somewhere. Or use someone like Flickr.

Yes I thought I had heard some refer to it as the neutral safety switch but yes The mechanism that is attached to the subframe betweeen the collar on the steering column and the transmission

Parts of the more common auto version are starting to be repro'd, not the manual, go figure... looks like they are starting to cover the manual models, at least bushes and hardware. Might have to shop around, some not in stock or possibly a future product.
