Just purchased 02 convertible . There is a panel in trunk that was not installed. owner had no idea where it went{husbands car, he died}. it definitely goes in trunk. Also a large carpeted mat with logo on one side in trunk. Anybody who can shed some light on this for me would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like it might be a cover (boot) that goes over the top once its down in the trunk. I would be able to help you better if you could post a few pictures of it.

Agreed on both counts.  The “panel” sounds like the plastic tonneau cover that covers the top when it’s down.  Should have two pieces that go over the ends and a enter oiece rhat connects in the middle.  Not sure on the mat. pictures are definitely needed
