Leaf spring isolator ring?
« on: October 27, 2022, 08:38:36 AM »
In the leaf spring lower plate there looks like a metal ring is pressed into the center locator hole. My new rubber isolator looks like it has a metal ring too.  Do I pop out the ring in the metal plate or does that belong there?

Pop out the old ring in the plate, the one in the new spring pad replaces it.

Probably part of the previous pad, sheered off or broken away from it.

I couldn't get the new pad to fit into the hole until I took that ring out. I didn't want to ruin something that I probably wouldn't be able to find.

Makes sense, it's part of the previous pad. Not all have it, some inbedded, some slipped into molding.
