Nose Grille Restoration
« on: October 06, 2022, 01:52:21 PM »
I'm looking for recommendations for a company or individual that can restore these grilles (and do a great job).
Just like Randy Combs does a fantastic job restoring the instrument panel bezel.

Thanks

You mean a 77 grille? They are still available NOS and an excellent reproduction as well, a few brands, not sure if differed pieces. If you were to get these professionally plastic chromed it would cost more than the replacements. Most are standard black, you'll need to mask off and respray for silver, gold or blue. Is that what you mean?

Yes, this is what I meant. I had no idea they were still available NOS. Also yes, on it being a '77. I'll look into that.but I'd still like to know if there is someone with a service that restores them as well.

I agree with Wallington. Might be hard to find someone to rechrome the plastic. They are out there in the cataogues, I got my set from Ames, I am sure Year One and Classic has them as well. They are probably $150 or so for a set, I doubt someone could restore a set for that price.

Although I don't have an experience with NOS 77 grille replacement but did get tail light bezels for my 71 the quality was terrible and I had to fit the lens into the bezels. I still have my old ones which I will restore at some point. My point is it's a hit or miss with these NOS parts.
