LED Backup Lights

Hello all,

I was going to swap out my backup lights to LEDs like I did the rest of the car. However, I can't seem to find 1156s that actually fit. I've gone through 3 different brands but all have the same issue: I can insert the bulb fully but none of them rotate to lock into place like the stock incandescent bulb. I cleaned the socket, but still have the same problem. Does anyone know of a bulb that actually works in the stock socket?

Why don't they turn or lock? Are the pins not offset or at correct heights compared to what you just took out?

I had the same problem.  The issue is not with the pins but with housing.  The distance from the pins to the LED's is too short.  In my case I have the ZEVO.

I had to file down the base of the white plastic. More of a bevel on the corner in order for the bulb to be pushed farther down to twist and lock the bulb into posiion.  In your case, being metal I'm not sure how you would accomplish that.
