Bulkhead Connector Question
« on: November 11, 2022, 02:01:40 PM »
I have a 78 w/ Pontiac 400 and I have determined my engine harness is toast, there's been too many bodged and burnt wires. So I have decided I am going to rebuild the harness with new wire and connectors. My question is, what is all the nasty thick brown grease that is packed in it inside and out? I've read its anywhere from Dielectric grease to axle grease. I'd like to seal it back with whatever it was by stock and if that's not available what else could be used to seal it from the weather? Thank you

I would use dielectric grease.

It's a gunky sealant. No point spraying degreaser about only to remove it all and let the water in.
