Title: lifting an old sbc?
Post by: Vroom_vroom on May 12, 2021, 01:24:34 PM
ran into an odd question and based on the collective knowledge i thought id ask.

i have an old sbc im getting ready to yank but it has no accessory holes in the heads. how bad of an idea is it to bolt the chain to a intake bolt? (no intake on it) it has a t10 attached to it as well.

This bracket attaches to the intake manifold and you can lift the engine from that. That's how I did mine.

i have one i have used before, intake is already off and its not a carb intake anyhow. intake or bell housing/ water pump may be a safer alternative curious to see the clutch that came apart.

I took my sbc out and put back in using the bolts on the exhaust headers. I was to scared to use the intake bolt.
