Forum layout update again?
« on: January 24, 2024, 05:47:04 AM »
Has the forum been updated again or something changed?

I had all sorts of dramas posting a new topic, this one too, as the layout looks like it has crashed and the text runs off the page and hard to pull it back to type on next line of find the button to post.

This is on Google Chrome. And Firefox hasn't let me sign in since before Christmas. I requested assistance, of course, there is none.

Sounds crazy. I use explorer (i think) and was having problems logging in. All I got was some type of coding etc. I then put in firefox and was using that. I am not happy with that program although the fourm looked normal on it. To me it was a couple of extra steps and I wasnt signing in on a regular basis. Just the other day for the heck of it I signed back on with Explorer and things are working fine. Faster than the firefox version.  I for one am seing things back to normal for a change.

I use safari at home and has always worked well but last month sitting in the waiting room at a big hospital when I signed on their Wi-Fi network all I saw were years old posts and messed up screen - somewhere interfacing is being messed up is my guess - and I don’t know anything….as my father used to call it ‘ sabotage’

I had issues running Microsoft Edge on my Windows 10 laptop. I was able to see what others users were complaining about, the user interface was terrible. I switched to Firefox for my browser and everything was back to normal. At some point I started using Microsoft Edge again and it has been working fine since, so who knows!

Windows 11 and Firefox.  No problems here.

Hope you get it back to normal soon, Ben.  I like the information you provide.  Priceless.

On my Windows 10 based system, it never looks like it did. It started acting up with Chrome, then Firefox, then eventually on Edge. It still looks normal on my iPhone and iPad, but I prefer to use my desktop. whatever the problem is, I hope it gets resolved.

This could be an issue with the cache on local systems and not a product of the site itself. You may want to clean out your browser cache and give that a shot. When I see the system working on some systems but not others with the same or similar setup and apps being used, that tends to lead me to a local issue and not a site wide issue. Just a thought.

I guess I am curious if this is a windows issue or there isn't enough interest to update the program?  I prefer the forum since I don't use Facebook much and when I did, I never got answers

Still trying to figure out what is going on.  It's harder to do since it has never happened on either my iPhone 12, nor on my Windows 10 running Firefox.  I switched to Windows Edge for a couple days and still have normal screens.  I know what you all are talking about- I have had it happen 3-4 times lately on a gun forum I belong to.  I'd never seen it on there (or anywhere in the last 10 years) until last month.  mrbandit was going to get guidance from our server.  He is in the middle of moving, so I haven't heard anything the past two weeks from him.

It had to be something with the form. Because I cleared my cache and wiped my phone and unless I run fire fox it is messed up. I'm sure there is something that could be done but what, I don't know. I am no techy..

I'm not so sure, I'm running Win10 and I've tried the forum on Edge, Chrome, and Firefox, all of which display the forum just fine. It looks fine on my cell phone as well which is an android. While I'm not in disagreement with you, it certainly could be the forum, but, it may also be some kind of setting on a users computer.

I dislike trying to troubleshoot stuff like this because it isn't consistent, kinda like you hear this noise in your car and when you take it to the mechanic, it stops, and the mechanic is left scratching his head as to what might be causing it.

What is the latest on the form layout? is it going back to the way it used to be? I have to sign in every time I log on and having trouble seeing anything normal. Actually, I am not sure if this post will make it...

Hi Jack!

Seems to be some kind of gremlin haunting this thing. My computer went through a period that I could not access as normal. I did switch to firefox and it worked but added a few steps and being used to 'my' system I did not care too much for that. One day I just clicked on my favorite bar and viola! TAC has been running perfect since. How do I explain? I DONT KNOW!!!

The same thing was happening with another place (non forum) that I would log into on a regular basis. It would never load, then when it finally connected I got all of the nonsense showing just like TAC was doing. I called them for advice and they offered none, thought it may be on my end. One day I got on and there was a message for users of such n such system they were experiencing problems that they were working on. That one is still hit and miss.
