Pearl Harbor Day
« on: December 07, 2023, 05:58:50 AM »
Lets keep this memory alive. I have been watching the news through multiple outlets for about an hour and not one mention. 9/11 has now passed enough time that the generations less than about 40 yrs old have no idea on the impact that had. I was born 25 yrs after Peal Harbor was attacked but we still knew very much about the event. My grandmothers next door neighbor was a Navy and was present during the attack. He was a diver. For obvious reasons he never spoke about it.

I noticed last year that the media outlets ignored this.  Newsmax has had it on several times today.

I agree on both December 7th and 9/11. As a kid Pearl Harbor Day was definitely in the news during 50's, 60's and 70's. During those decades there were still plenty of survivors and WWII vets. The war dominated the news and had a profound effect on the generation that fought and survived. It's sad when memories of important historical events seem to fade away with those who were part of it.

Unbelievable….but true.

I’ve always wanted to visit the Arizona memorial.  I hope you recover fast from the Covid.  At least it didn’t ruin your trip.

Spent 10 days on Oahu and spent a day at the memorial.

So much history.  The amount of people and tourists on the island is insane.  Plan everything as many times tours sold out.  Beautiful views and sunsets just becoming overrun with people.  People everywhere.  Even during the week.

Glad to be home and unfortunately still in bed recovering from Covid.  Whatever variant of Covid this was got me good.  Day 2 was the worst with feeling not being able to breathe and that was the urgent care visit.  Been living in the back room of the house with a vapor machine to keep air moisture up.  Covid is no joke….the feeling of not being able to breathe is nothing like I have ever experienced.

Thanks for asking….
About 50% better and shouid be able to work a few hours tomorrow.

My boss called me Saturday to check on me. I think every other word was a four letter adjective about how crappy I felt.  Never in my life been this sick.  They say it takes 10 days to get energy back.

Appreciated.

I said a prayer for you, brother.  I had a "light case" according to the doc.  I know it was nothing like what you are going through.
