I use oil drains like this on my heavy equipment but I still plug outlet because vibration has made them leak occasionally.

I’d be scared of that.  I’ve been a licensed plumber since 1986.  I’ve seen those vibrate open on boilers and commercial units.   Never had an issue on home applications, but I’d worry while driving down the road.

EZ Oil drain kit, handle has a spring lock so that it doesn’t vibrate loose.

Some new cars don't even have a plug, you have to use an extractor... Not sure which genius came up with that idea.

We had a VW jetta and the extractor was the only way to get to the trans fluid. There wasnt even a dipstick to check levels. And yes the transmission failed :shock:

A lot of new cars are using non serviceable transmissions VW and Audi being the worst offenders. I'll never buy a German car again.
