Apologize if I have said this before on here, but when I was a kid my grandmothers next door neighbor was a retired sailer, USN. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor during the attack. He was a diver and the recovery of his fallen brethren in the aftermath was one of his duties. For obvious reasons he never spoke of it. He was an active gardener and his yard looked like a well manicured showplace before anyone really cared what their lawns looked like. He had some gnarly old school tatoos from his days sailing the seas that to me being 9 or 10 yrs old, thought were the coolest things ever.

Those who were involved with the ugliest parts of war never want to talk about it, but you can bet they probably think about it often.
