Fuel tank sending unit

My fuel tank sprung a leak so it is being replaced.  My sending unit is still working OK.  It was replaced about 15 years ago with an AC Delco part that was just about identical to the OE part it replaced.  I'm thinking about replacing it anyway since I'm in there.  It looks like AC Delco is no longer offering a replacement.  The OER part looks closest in appearance.

Does anyone have a recommendation for as close to the OE as possible?  Is OER the best choice?

I tackled this job yesterday.  It went pretty smoothly except for one $%*& moment.  The ground wire that comes off of the OER sending unit was too short and wouldn't reach the body mounting screw location.  Of course I found this out after the tank was mounted which meant it had to come out again so I could drill a new screw hole.  So here we go again with reproduction parts having stupid slight inconsistencies that should never have occured.  Why do they make the wire 1 inch too short?
