Title: Under Dash Hookups
Post by: roadking77 on March 14, 2024, 04:30:40 PM: Finally got my steering column in place :) There are a few connectors under the dash I am at a loss for right now. If someone knows offhand that would be great. 1979 Trans Am.

The last one I am assuming is the brake light switch?

Post by: wheels78ta on March 14, 2024, 08:48:05 PM: Your 4th pic connects to the wiring that goes under the carpet behind the front seat. There are two small gauge wires (black) that are in that run. One of them is a ground that connects inside the cab next to the driver seat. The other should be a connector (one wire but two spaces) that goes to the one in your picture.

Post by: jbanna on March 15, 2024, 12:52:25 AM: I have several unconnected plugs and wires under my 78's dash, which I have never figured out, but everything works, so I assume they are for options, although the only options my car didn't come with were cruise control and a trunk release...

Post by: roadking77 on March 15, 2024, 04:15:15 AM: Thanks Wheels, I forgot about the connector on the top of the column. I was thinking they hooked up to it someplace but forgot where. It has been years now since I did my 77. On that car I disconnected and labled things, this one was unhooked and just left dangling by the previous owner! BIG HELP!
