T Top Headline
« on: August 18, 2022, 02:29:06 PM »
Question about T Top head liner.
I know you can buy the full complete headliner from different companies but they are very expensive by the time they get hear in Canada.
They are usually special freight and I have to pay customs and the $ difference between US and Canada.
A 300 item like this cost me 600 Canadian by the time it gets here.

So the question is am I better off just t buying the material and gluing it on my old Headliner?  (Removing the old material of course)
Have you guys had luck working with the material in the past?
Let me know
TY

Yes, definitely do it yourself.  I bought my material from either clasic industries or NPD. Looks original. I cleaned my boar and made a few repairs with metal backed tape and used 3m spray adhesive that they recommend.  Came out great and was pretty easy.

If your existing board is intact and just needs a new headliner, then it's not even a question.

Even if it's not in one piece,  repair it and recover it.

I agree, I have done both of my cars that way. I would take the board out of the car to do it. Be careful those things get really brittle (I ended up making new ones in both cases). Make sure you have all of the old glue/headliner off and its good and clean then you shouldnt have a problem.

Great thanks again for the info.
I think buying the Material and applying it on the original board is the way to go.
My board is still in good shape.
