Title: Seat Upholstery

Will the seat covers from a 1978 trans am fit the seats from a 1981? The 78 seat covers are deluxe cloth and the 81 currently has the Lombardy cloth cover. Thanks!

I would think they would. I think most of the later 2nd gen seat frames are the same, the exception would be if you have deluxe v. standard. The deluxe has a hard plastic back, the standard is all vinyl. The covers should still fit though.

The frame is the same but I believe the padding changes from standard to deluxe.

My standard seats had a hard plastic back, but they are smaller and not the wrap around /clamshell style like the deluxe.

I bought new deluxe foam and covers to upgrade them and reused the standard back covers.
