Title: WS6 vs Non WS6
Post by: d_hache on March 21, 2022, 09:26:50 AM
Hello, I was looking around for an old posting that might explain the differences with a WS6 suppression vs a regular TA.
If there is an old post explaining the differences can you please send me the link.
I was also looking online but could not find that I was looking for.

I know the WS6 had the 8 inch rims, disk brakes and bigger sway bar in the back etc but what else did it have?
For example where the springs and shocks different?
What about the steering components?  Anything different there?
Thanks allot!

The springs were stiffer.  I believe the front sway bar was thicker.  The steering box is not the variable ratio gear, it is a constant ratio.  There is an additional brace between the frame and lower control arm on each side.  The rear gear ratio is 2.73 instead of 2.42 on automatic cars.

78 WS6 cars had drum brakes. Tires were 225-r70-15, 8" wheels, 1 1/4" front and 3/4" rear sway bars with harder bushings. 14.1 constant ratio steering and specific spring and shock rates. Control arm brace may or may not have been installed, i dont remember having them on mine.
