Since I have been working on the 1949 ford F1 I realized there are not many body panels available and if they are they are really expensive. This body style only ran from 49 to 51 and things like fenders were only a two year run so aftermarket is slim.

So, I know I will be repairing the original stuff or making it from scratch. This wouldn't require new tools but they will make it easier. 

The first new thing I got was a english wheel, just the one from harbor freight but with some additions I've heard they can be made to do some pretty great work. I also ordered some Eastwood dies for it. Those weren't exactly cheap...

I also got a Woodward manual bead roller that I will be converting to powered. Yes, not the top of the line or even the middle but I can add to them to get them to be quite capable.

I am pretty good with sheet metal and I am excited to see what I can do with these. I will hopefully get to use them more this winter when hopefully I'll get into the body of the F1. I will be building a stand for the bead roller as well. But for fun, some pictures.

That’s pretty awesome. English wheel definitely requires skill. Always thought they were interesting.

Good deal Luke. I like doing metal work. Have seen a guy working an english wheel with amazement. I wanted to get a bead roller when I started my 77 resto but decided against it. After all of the metal work I did on that car I wish I had. My next project will most def. need one (I think :shock:). A good heavy brake is also on my list. I have a 12' aluminum bending brake but its nowhere near strong enough for sheet steel.
