Hey guys another restoration question.
I wanted to repaint my brake booster.
The brake booster should be which color? (Black, metal color or that light gold color)
My car is an 1980.
I am asking because is see allot of combinations out there.
Thanks allot

Im not sure of the 80's but 1979 booster should be gold cadmium plated. May be the same for 1980. I think the '81 used a different style altogether. The master cylinder should be painted black. Eastwood used to sell a gold cad plating type paint that was close, I just painted my wiper motor which I think was originally the same as the booster. I lightly dusted gold over the bare silver, it turned out ok, not as close as my booster but good enough I think.

I drive a low mileage unrestored 1980. The booster is gold cadmium, the master cylinder is black, I think semigloss. Hard to be sure with 41 year old paint. I believe my car was assembled in late august of 1979, Norwood Ohio.

Great thanks for the info guys! Not that I am trying to build a 100% correct car or a concourse car but i link things to be correct as much as possible. Thanks again

My '79 booster is black cadmium plated, original, unrestored.

The plot thickens, I wonder if assembly plant had anything to do with the difference. Also, may be the part suppliers. Interesting.
Funny thing is I could have sworn the booster on my 79 tata was black cadmium plated but I just figured someone painted it over its lifetime. My car was far from original when I got it. The restoration shop replated with gold cad which is what all of the others that I have seen are. Just for info my 79 is March, 79 build Norwood.
