Remember Pearl Harbor
« on: December 07, 2021, 07:20:14 AM »
Today is the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. When the anniversary of 9/11 rolled around there was talk about things being forgotten after a generation or two. We should never forget some of  the major events that shaped our country, our world and our daily lives. They said on the news this morning that there are approx. 80 survivors alive today.

I drill this into my kids every year. My father was at Coral Sea during the battle, and would have served on the flagship for the invasion of Tokyo.
Would never talk about the war, except about the three or four respite visits to Melbourne which he called 'the most beautiful place on the planet'.
I can't believe he's been gone 34 years now. He would be disgusted with what this Country has turned into.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.
I feel like I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe.

it's like the Great TikTok Outage of 2020, 3hrs that will be talked about by teens for decades to come instead of anything that matters.

Thanks for posting, I agree but unfortunately the current generation could care less about 9/11 and don't even know where Pearl Harbor is...

Regards, Jack
