Came across while cruising through Hemmings tonight. I could see someone starting a collection of these with a ZTA, LPE T/A, one of Kevin Morgan's first designs, etc. I remember when the Holden GTO came out there was a rebody by Jim Wangers as well as the HPP 455 Chevelle rebody.

I have been critical of these new Camaro conversions because so many take 2nd gen design touches and put them on this new body that is mostly first gen in basic shape. Here we have what I think it should be, ...an update of the first gen body, however it looks horrible. I hate the attempt at chrome bumpers most of all, much of the rest I could find a way to live with.
-
Not a fan of that one at all.

" I hate the attempt at chrome bumpers most of all, much of the rest I could find a way to live with".
Agree, it looks terrible.
-
It's hard to look past that first pic with a chrome beak.
-
Sorry, it doesn’t work for me.
-
Hideous! have yet to see one I really like, and for the prices they want, it better be really nice.
-
Not sure if you guys noticed but the same dealer has a real 69 TA for $10K more. Much rather spend my $s on that one if I had it.
The 5th gen Camaro based ones aren’t aging well.
-
I hate all the camaro mods that try and make it look like something else. In the end, it's still a camaro

Well said, they have aged very poorly...
-
Pic wont load for me but I can imagine what it looks like :-(
I suppose I would take one if given to me, but would not buy one. These conversions seemed to be the rage at one point (kinda like custom choppers) but I think Camaro people didnt want them and real Pontiac people didnt want them. Im surprised I havent seen any used ones for sale. Is it because the people that bought them know they are $100k under water or they love them so much they cant resell or they are embarrassed? I have never seen one go across an auction block  I guess you could park it next to your Ferrari/Fiero.

I agree whole heartedly.

That one has been for sale locally for quite a few months now. You couldn't build it for the price their asking and its actually cheaper than a lot of new cars. I think it just has very limited appeal.
-
“limited appeal” is being kind. It’s quite ugly. The drawings look ok, but the physical car looks awful IMHO. Selling this car is the epitome of “need to find the right buyer”
-
Plus it’s not really a new car anymore, it’s a very low mileage old one. I like Camaros too and would rather have a brand new one for that money. Hey won’t that money buy a new Corvette, that’s what I would do.
-
If you could just fix that awful front bumper, the other 1st gen design elements work better than people trying to hang 2nd gen styles on them.
-
This is the Kaitlin Jenner version of the Camaro.
It is amazing how much time, money and effort goes into making an ugly car uglier. I'm not a fan of the 5th gen Camaro, much less the body kits to make it look like something else.

Almost spit my coffee out on that one, but so true.
-
Jim,
That’s a pretty good analogy!
-
 maybe that was the objective. Althought I wouldn't call 5th gens ugly... but I'm suprised that they didn't come out with a 6th gen.
-
I like the newish Camaros but not gussied up as something else. My wife is a Mustang gal (was her first car) which is why we bought a new convertible. I was trying to push her on the 'vert Camaro but no go.
-
Camaro is going the way of the dodo bird (again). gm <their new logo> said it had no place in their electric lineup.
-
I read somewhere about a year ago that their sales were about a quarter of what Mustang was. Not that it doesnt fit, people arent buying them.
-
The Mustang is now an SUV right? I'm suprised the camaro made it this far, but I guess they managed just to change it enough and included different engine options to keep it alive.
-
They are still cranking out real Mustangs, along with that electric suv they call Mach-E Mustang. I hate to see Camaro go (again). Bringing back the Challenger first, and then the Camaro, was good for everyone. They all had to compete and be innovative and not just stagnate, trying to one- up each other to compete for sales.
-
I read that the challenger is going away too. Maybe next year? I suppose there will be an electric version sooner than later.
-
Makes me glad I've been able to keep one of my Firebirds after all these years. For a while I was wishing for one of the current models from Trans Am Worldwide but between the cost and the obscurity of future parts I think I'll just stick with the originals.
-
Looks like a Cadillac CTS V to me.... Pretty ugly.
-
Like others, the front end kills it for me.
