I went ahead and put a new caliper in there.

Picked up an extra bleeder screw and drilled out the center. Then seated it.

Ran a hose back to the master cylinder and bled the system. There was still a lot of air in the system.

After about 200 pump and air coming in over and over.

I put the original bleeder screw back in with the hose connected to it running back to the master cylinder.

I bled it the normal way. I pumped it up 3 times. And released the bleeder screw. A lot of air came out.
I pumped it up 3 more times with the bleed screw tight. Then released it. No air came out.
I then pumped it up again and did the same thing. Air came out

So this is a timed leak. Ever other cycle of pumping it up 3 times. Adds in a lot of air.

At this point I’m kind of at a loss. I’ve never had a brake system do this.

I’ve replaced the entire system and I cannot get it to bleed. I don’t think it trapped air I’m not getting out. I think it’s air being introduced into the system over and over again

They probably don't, but they are always buckled and bent.

I'm glad you're not losing it. Every time I search for something I know I had, I begin to think I'm going crazy and I sold it, gave it to someone or loaned it out. It really messes with my head.

I have the same flare tool, but I haven't used it yet.  I hear they are pretty cool.

Does anyone have other options/suggestions for an efi system that would be easier or cheaper.

From my minimal research, this Holley setup seems to be pretty straightforward enough that I could do this, even without any tuning knowledge

But I am curious if there are other, easier, better or cheaper options out there.

No, I don't believe it does.  There are taps in the wiring to add outside senders, so you could probably program one in. I really want to do this just because.  I just have so many projects going.... We'll see how it all plays out. I have to drag the car out of the barn and see how quickly I can get some paint on it. If I do decide to try the turbo than the 301 that is currently in the car can stay. Otherwise I will rip it out and replace it with the nice one I got from you. I don't want to kill yours right off the bat....

All in all I am leaning towards do this project.

Anyone have the wiring diagram for the plug that goes into the circuit grid on the back of the gauge cluster?

I never noticed the slight bend is this bracket until you pointed it out. The more I see, the more I am disappointed in repo parts. Honestly since it sits at the top of the core support, I would think it really shouldn’t rust out?
