Its been awhile
« on: October 15, 2021, 10:31:16 PM »
I haven't been on here in a long time. I was surprised to find all the good information gone.
I read through and found out why which is to bad.
I was going to do an update post on the Xtreme_TA  post.
I sold the Corvette after finishing it. Just didn't have the room to correctly store it. Only drove it about five times in three years.
I don't remember how far my project thread went.
The T/A now has a Smith Race Craft front a-frame and actuators to open the nose.
I guess I'll take some time this weekend to start a new project thread.

I ended up trading it to get my T/A back that I sold 5 years earlier.

Hey, Tracy!  Last I remember, you had gotten the '76 back and it was a mess.  Seems like you were going to have to do major work to it inside and outside.

Thanks guys.
The T/A was a mess. It still is lol but its getting better.
I havnt had allot of time to work on it like I'd like too.
But the new firewall is done. The front subframe is all fitted.
I'm working on the actuators now that will open the nose.
Once those are in the subframe is coming back out and it and all the suspension parts go out to powder coat.
Then I can paint the firewall then the fun starts putting it all back together for the last time.
I tried to post a few photos but it wont let me.
And Photobucket still has my account locked up.

Tracy, now you can post pics directly via the "additional options" link below. You do need to resize the pics before posting but no need to go through photobucket.

Good to see you Tracy! I remember when I sent you the listing when I saw your car pop back up for sale near me. Glad you are still making progress on the car and it's very unfortunate that we lost the old data. I'd love to see your thread rebuilt from the beginning. It would be great to see it from the beginning too if you have the time.  8)

Gee thanks allot for sending me the ad no just kidding.
I actually havnt had much time to work on it. I took an Ops Manager  position at work and it pretty much consumes my time now.
I did get all done when I first brought it home. New firewall the new front subframe. Now working on the actuators to open the nose so I won't even need to get out of the car.
Once those are done I can paint the front subframe and the motor can go back in permanently.  I have been pondering taking it apart for a rebuild since it has been sitting so many years.
The bad part in that I was looking at Stroker kits to give it some more power lol.

Well progress has stopped again.
Had to go to the emergency room for bag stomach pains to find out I have an Abdominal hernia. My six pack muscle is ripped in half. They told me I could have had it for a long time and getting worse as time went by.
Their going surgery in two weeks to repair it.
They said six to eight weeks recovery time.
So for now progress has stopped again on the T/A till the new year.
I just can't win sometimes.

I am sorry to hear that.  Do what the doc says, and get straightened up.  Then we can watch you work your magic on the '76 LE.

Very sorry to hear that.  Thank goodness it wasn't something worse! Two weeks seems like a long time to wait for surgery, considering the abdominal muscles are involved in every movement we make. Gods speed to you.

Its amazing how you dont relise how much affects your stomach until you injure it.
Just carrying a bag of groceries pulls on it.
The list of dont do's he gave me is a mile long.
Hopefully recovery is going to be quick.
I have allot to do on the T/A and the 52 Willys this winter.

I figured I'd stop by and say hello.
I had my surgery there was allot more damage then they thought so they had to put in a mesh to make the repair stronger. Recovery was going along pretty good then I guess my body didn't like the mesh and had a reaction.
It's been a long slow recovery and I'm getting better now.
It was also a good way to loose 28 pounds. Lol
I haven't been out in the garage all winter.
I did get the old 50 gallon hot water heater that was feeding my radiant replaced.
They put in an Ideal 130000 btu boiler. It's amazing out much less propane it uses.
The old one keeping it at 60 used about 500 gallons a season.
The new one in two months used about 40 gallons.
I haven't had the radiant working in several years as the old tank rusted away.
I was hoping to get allot done on both the T/A and my Willy's.
But didn't happen. I've been out of work for the last six weeks so I've been out in the shop taking it easy getting things cleaned up and put away.
Then hopefully soon I can get back to the heavy duty work.
And sorry I haven't had time to start on rebuilding my thread yet.
