Some homemade enchiladas for lunch/dinner.  Gotta have something unsweet to go with the candies.

Sweet tooth here, Everything looks great! Enchiladas as well!

My wife used to make some cookies, but stopped a few years ago. I took over the duties but its usually a day or two before Christmas that I bake. Only make a couple of types, usually some kind of sugar cookie and choc. chip.

Not grilling that day.  Just using it as a place to store the candies that need to set-up.

We do grill through the year.  As long as the propane will light.  If not we'll use the charcoal and wood chips.

I had no idea you were in Goddard.  I started taking 400 from I-40 exit 1 Kansas-Missouri line all the way to Gunnison Colorado for my yearly trip.  This year, I had the pleasure of getting my very first speeding ticket in the neighboring town of Augusta on my way home from the mountains.

Augusta, Ks.......East of Andover....East of Wichita.  Took 400 east many times when working for the phone company.

Just West of Augusta, heading east, the speed limit drops from 65 mph to 55 mph then to 30 mph.  30 mph through Augusta then up to 45 mph to the curve then 65 mph going east.  I always watched for the radar.  They like to stop out-of-towners, especially semi's.

He was sitting right behind the speed limit 30 sign.  I saw him before I got there; I just didn't realize that there was speed limit drop there.  I saw the sign and immediately braked.  Everyone else held their speed.  So he hit the lights and I pulled over.  I pointed out that all the Kansas-tagged cars never slowed and I was following them, not knowing the area's speed through there.  He was polite, and told me I slowed down so he came for me, and that I was lucky that he was writing me a 40-in-a-30 ticket (he said I was doing 42 when he tagged me and that would make the fine higher).  Only cost $155   Pretty sure the braking and out-of-state license plate was the reason.  I usually take 166W at the border, 77 N to 160W, then 281N to Dodge City, then 50W all the way to Gunnison Colorado.  This year I decided to try a different rural view and take 400W/50W from the Mo/Ks line to my destination.  Trip there was great, lots of new country scenery, and several small towns, and 4 roundabouts.  Same for my trip back, other than the Augusta hospitality. Next year I may or may not go through Augusta, but the rest of the trip through the rural areas was awesome.  I used to take I-70 every year all the way to Colorado, then drive small roads to the SW area of Gunnison.  But I have grown to absolutely detest I-70 and the lack of scenery, after the first 3-4 trips, and started going through Coffeyville and, from there, on to Colorado.  I now leave Kentucky and use Interstate highway only from west of Springfield Mo. to exit 1 in Kansas (just over1 hour total time on the interstate).  Interstates are efficient, but boring.  I like the small towns history and small farms much better.

Hopefully your insurance doesn't go up as well. MA has one of the worst insurance laws/regulations, you get points for 6 years each point I think is 15% and a speeding ticket is maybe 3 points.

Jack, MD is the same with points/tickets and insurance. Thats kinda why I like the speed cameras, no points are given with those. I carry a CDL and it has saved me quite a few tickets over the years. The cops will say something like I know you need your license for work so I will cut you a break this time. I will say though that I dont think I have been stopped more than twice in the last 10 years.

Mike, I was travelling in NW PA many years ago. It was late at night. I was on what I thought was an interstate highway. Dual lanes that went on forever with 65 mph limit. All of the sudden it turned into a 2 lane road with a 40 mph. Needless to say there was a cop right there and yes I got stopped. It was something like $100 or so fine. Then to add insult, 6 months later I got a letter from PA saying I had an arrest warrant for failing to pay, although I paid the fine immediately. After a few phone calls it turned out I paid the ticket amount and omitted the $5 processing fee so it showed that I did not pay anything.
