Attending the Indian Uprising in Crystal Lake IL.
« on: August 14, 2022, 07:10:45 PM »
This weekend was the 31st Indian Uprising car show, also known as the "All Pontiac Weekend" It's only 30 miles from my house so I have no excuse not to attend. naturally lot's of Firebirds of all generations, but probably more 2nd generation. Second most popular were GTO's.

I found this 1973 SD 455 TA interesting because it has been in the same family since purchased new. The woman's father purchased it while she was a senior in high school. Initially she could understand why the car was so special to her father that only drove it occasionally on good weather days. As time passed, she grew to love the car. Low milage unrestored car with one repaint.

There are still a lot of 1st generation Firebirds, but the OHC 6 makes it unusual and rare.

Not very many 50's ERA cars at the show. This 1956 Star Chief was stunning!

This 1967 GTO belongs to my neighbor, it's an over-the-top restoration. This same neighbor entered his 1973 Trans Am last year.

There were probably more 65 GTO's at the show than anything else, the majority were really nice

This is me on the left and my buddy Joe on the right next to his 65 GTO. He also owns a 1970 GT0 Convertible Ram Air III, that he bought when he was 18. We were co-workers in the computer industry since the early 80's.

Anyone here who used to have one of these on their back seat? I had one twice the size, that got stolen when my brother left the window open.

Anyone remember these? I think this was a 60's ERA Pontiac only option. A work light for under the hood, but had about 15' of wire that could be unwound for when you changed a flat tire on a dark road.

Thanks for posting Larry, and its nice to put a face to the name, LOL. Some really nice cars. Yes, my 8 track case was much larger, but more impressive were the 4 cases I had full of cassettes!

There is an all Pontiac show this coming Saturday in my neck of the woods. I cant wait to get there. Its been awhile since I have gone to a show even longer since I enjoyed a show.
