1981 speedo
« on: March 23, 2022, 03:02:08 AM »
i have an opportunity to pick up a 1981 speedo, it has an extra blue 3 pin plug hanging off the back
some tell me this is a digital speedo and requires a speed sensor in the transmission
others tell me it is a suppressor to stabilize the speedo
can anyone confirm what this plug is for
and whether this will work with standard speedo cable
this is to go in my 78 ta
thanks

I couldn't tell you, but probably have a regular 78 speedo if needed.

Other way.  it IS a speed sensor and was used in the computer control era to trigger TC lockup.  If you don't use it for anything, then nobody will know.  The speedometer is mechanical.
