Thanks!  I think you’re right.  Also I imagine many items that settle/break in on a daily driver are taking a lot longer given the low miles.  Seems odd that it would drop after the LS was installed and not when it had the heavy 400 in it for 5 years post suspension install.  That being said the T/A was barely driven with the 400 in it. 

Interestingly recently I’ve noticed that the suspension just seems smoother and less noisy than it used to be so maybe I’ve finally gotten it broken in.  Another good reason that these cars need to be driven and not just sit around as museum pieces.

One other thing I’ve noticed from these photos is that the Classic Industries snowflake wheels barely look gold from some angles.  Hopefully they’re not fading though they weren’t particularly bright gold from the beginning.  Probably not surprising for a $600 set of wheels.

Jumper cables run from truck, red on big terminal on soliniod, grounded to plate on back of starter, then screw driver to jump from small terminal to big terminal

Man, this last year I have contracted that same disease... where you sit down and fall asleep.  I didn't even know I could do that... Why are we so tired as we get older?? I do get up at 4:50am but that isn't anything new...

That is interesting. I didn't think coils settled that much. I wonder if you had tightened the A arm bolts without weight on the car. That would put the bushings in a bind and make the front higher. Then as the years roll on they have ripped or settled in. For the nice low and stealth look. Paint looks great from my house! Nice car!

How do you have it hooked to the battery? Sounlike bad connections or too small of wire.

A couple of years back I posted on this thread complaining that the PTFB GT kit had more fender gap in the front than back.  I believe I’ve had this installed now for 9 years now. 

Took a pic today from the same location and it actually has some rake now.  Even with a lighter LS3.  Measured it too and it’s got an inch higher gap in back.  Tire sizes haven’t changed.

Well I hit a road block. Putting the transmission back together and didn’t realize I had to remove the input shaft bearing in order to get it back in the casing. Now I need to wait for a transmission shop to open on Monday or get lucky at a car shop tomorrow for them to throw it on a press for me. Might as well order a new input bearing since I have to take it off. After this is over I don’t want to see another large snap ring again, it’s impressive how much force they take to get off not to mention they are cut at an angle so they just slip off snap ring pliers, specifically the front bearing retainer. Everything was going so smoothly until the final steps.

I bought a 73 400 pontiac a few weeks ago. The man showed me a video of it running bout a year ago. I put the engine on a stand so I could change freeze plugs do some cleaning and maybe paint it. It turns over good by using a breaker bar on the crank bolt. Hooke jumper cables to it poured a little in the carb cranked it and it fired up for just a second or two. Filled carb bowl this time and tried to crank and barely would turn over. I pulled plugs out hooked up cables and it spins over great. Put two plugs in, one each side it won’t turn over hardly at all. Moved plugs to other cylinders same thing. So I bought a new starter today, made no difference. Starter is shimmed out so it’s not binding up the starter. I pulled valve covers off and all the valves move when cranking over with plugs in it. It getting oil thru the push rods so I know it’s building pressure. I’m out of ideas, hopeing maybe someone has seen this before. I did pull exhaust manifolds on both sides thinking maybe they were stopped up, no change. Y’all got any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I have been waiting until I was finished before I made and update but I am very close to finishing I THINK. I had a few hiccups but they were all self induced and not the fault of the braking system. I was planning on getting into the shop tonight and being done with it but sat down on the couch after a bit of dinner and fell to sleep. To late now to go out. I will tackle it in the morning.
I hate to leave things hanging but really dont want to make a comment on what I have until its finished, just in case.

Good deal! I haven't looked yet, I hope both if my 301s have a spot for the pilot bearing. I know my original 301 that was in my 79 before the LS swap had the provision.  Not sure the size but I can just make one to fit. I have a lathe.
