Title: 67 Firebird nice article
Post by: Jack on November 23, 2021, 03:30:42 PM
I don't agree with the article but it's nice to see how the Firebird was compared to European cars. I like the original article with vintage pictures.

Here is Jay Leno's take on the 6 cylinder 68 bird.

Great article on Leno’s 68 convertible. With a Tremendous 5 speed it’s probably a lot of fun to drive. Hard to beat a top down convertible with a stick shift. Nice color combination too. They did a nice job on the restoration although I wonder why they didn’t use a quadrajet carb. The ceramic coated headers are a nice touch, but now looks to have a single exhaust system. With the improvements in braking and handling it would make John DeLorean proud.

Many years ago I worked on of few of the OHC 6’s with the single barrel carb but have never seen the sprint version. Years ago one of my buddies uncle told us he owned the 4 barrel version of the OHC 6 and said it had pretty decent performance.
