Mechanical / Re: Coolant leak how to fix

First thing I would try is loosen the intake bolts then snug the bolt that draws the intake toward the timing cover. Then properly torque the intake bolts. Can’t hurt to try. If you try that and it doesn’t work or skip it, I’d remove the intake, replace the o-ring and reinstall following the same procedure of drawing the intake forward first then tighten the intake bolts.

Makes sense, worn hinges and previous alignment issues means an off centre striker pin will lift a door into place when it closes.

It is crazy how that one day really changed the look of it! The is a sound deadener backing pad that is under the carpet but by the time we pull our old nasty carpet it has become one. Classic industries and others offer it separately but what you and others have done is the best way.

I think it's actually just sag. That is why you need to align it without the striker. These are just heavy doors.

Yeah, ya know I thought there was supposed to be some sort of soft material between the sound deadener and the carpet.  I guess not??

OTOH, the more I work on this car, the more I realize that there's really not much to it.  Like, a few interior panels, then the body work nightmare, and it'll be about done at that point.
