Replacing my power steering pump and in the instructions it says put a filter in return linenever heard of one on these cars and don’t see why you would need one as it’s a closed loop system. Maybe to catch possible gear debris as they wear out? For the amount these cars are driven, I wouldn’t bother
Is that common practice?

That's a single wire bulb isn't it? Has the metal spring prongs into rear of gauge housing. Make sure it's grounded, or has the gauges connected.
