1977 Trans Am Trunk Seal
« on: August 07, 2022, 12:53:21 PM »
I have a new trunk lid seal that I am trying to install. I get it in place but the trunk lid won’t close. Does anyone have pics of their trunk lid seal? I gotta be doing something wrong. Thanks

Make sure the seal faces outwards, the smooth curved face is from the inside of the trunk to the outside. That alone doesn't usually stop trunk closing, only sealing. Perhaps the rubber is very hard to compress. Some originals and repros were hollow to assist, but often included a harder rubber instead of softer solid. Make sure the join is down the bottom where unlikely to have water leak between.
