I just saw in Hemmings the 1964 Pontiac Banshee prototype is for sale for the measly sum of 1.2 mil. I had a book when I was much younger about the firebird and remember reading about the Banshee prototype. Hard to believe I could buy the car now. All I need is about 1.2 mil in my account.

I will be interested in hearing what this car sells for.
You got my curiosity talking about the banshee. It wasn't until I referred back to The Fabulous Firebird book by Michael Lamm that I was reminded there were multiple Banshee prototypes. I guess it's understandable that GM would never let Pontiac build a car that would compete with the Corvette. As shown with an OHC six it probably wouldn't sell well enough. I was 19 when I purchased my 73 TA and as much as I wanted a sporty image, I would not have settled for a car with no back seat or trunk.
I few pics from the book.
