Title: Valve seals
Post by: green-hornet on October 16, 2021, 01:10:46 PM
My engine is rebuild a few years ago.
I don 't know which seals where on my valves .

It's a pontiac 400 1976, I use the original oil shield,I have a mild compcam with compcam springs, XE set
In my New set of felpro gaskets there are 16 o-rings and 8 umbrella seals.

I think the umbrella with the o-rings on the intake valve and only the o-rings on the exhaust valve

What do you think i must do?

I replaced all my seals with the "O" ring seals using the oil shield, I don't think you can use the umbrella seals unless the heads have been machined for them. If you use the  "O" ring seals remember to compress the spring before putting the seal on.
