Power steering pump questions
« on: May 07, 2023, 03:10:59 PM »
I am installing a new pulley on a new pump and was wondering how far do you know to go to get pulley in right position? Perhaps someone could measure from the face of their pump to the center of the pulley to give me a reference.

I change mine a few years ago. I was not as worried about the distance as making sure everything lines up with the other pulleys.

I suppose I won't know until I get the crank and water pump pulleys on. Like you said that should tell me where it needs to be. I also think the new pulley may be different than the original

Unless something fancy it should just press on flush with the hub where the centre locking bolt is. All different offset pulleys are then based off same mount.

I had to press mine on in increments to make sure the pulleys were true, and if I remember right it was an expensive pulley to buy.
