Which axles should I upgrade to?

(1/2) > >>

glhx:
The car is a rear disc car factory and street driven. No racing
The seals cut into the axles and left a deep groove. I put a new seal in that was offset some but it didn’t work well. It still soaked my brake pads in 90 weight.

So I want to get new axles.

I’m looking at moser A102803.
It shows them to be 30.06

Where as other companies show 30.125

One concern with moser is the lug studs.
They sell 1 1/4”
And 1 3/4”

The studs on my stock wheels are 1 1/2”. They don’t sell those

Moser tech support says I can run 1 3/4” studs and the factory lug nuts will tighten fine. I didn’t hear a lot of confidence in his voice.
I’m wondering if the lug nuts for the snowflake will accept that extra 1/4” for the back wheels

Or……..

What axles do all of you buy for upgrades? I’d like to know and I’ll run the best axles I can.

When I replaced my axles and posi unit I contacted (tomsdifferentials.com),Ph.# 208-265-8111. They have everything you need and will put the lug studs in for you just give them a shout and they can set you up.

Wallington:
Not sure which version snowflakes you have, several brands of lugnuts exist and probably have different specifications. Take one off and measure the thread depth on a 7/16" UNF bolt.

stros:
I went with Dutchman axles when I upgraded my axles for my LS3.  Everything worked out well.  No issues with my Snowflake wheels either.  I went with their SR62 model 30 spline axles.

Did your car come with the 30 spine differential?
