Black Friday
« on: November 27, 2022, 07:06:20 PM »
I was telling my kids (adults) about black friday and how people use to camp outside the stores to get that TV or a Walkman. I never did anything to that extend but did enjoy going out early on Friday usually only the big box and hardware stores to get some deals. I kinda miss those days, we waited for the newspaper the day before to see the ads and plan accordingly.

Nope. My wife and daughter went out, but like you said, nothing like it used to be, before internet sales. I went to the antique mall and got some old street signs for my daughter. She saw all of the signs I have in my shop and wanted some for here room... She tried to get me to take down some of mine... Nope. (I did give her a couple I hadn't hung yet though). I have slowed collected them over the years, nothing crazy.  But anyway, I got a couple just for her on Friday.

We got a tv for the new house online at BestBuy.  We used to do the Black Friday sales for 3-4 years, when my daughter was in school.  If lucky enough to snag one (and we always did), you could really get a great buy on laptops and things that our daughter needed for school/college.  After that, we stopped doing them.

I cant stand crowds, let alone standing in one in the wee hours of the morning. Never have done a black friday hunt. My sister used to love to do it. Now that the kids (my grandson and her son) are older she no longer goes out. Interestingly I was watching a program on tv last night about toys. The Cabbage Patch kids were the first toy that started the long line and rush to the stores.

I was thinking I would find something in my email about cyber monday. Hoping that legendary would have a sale going as I need seats for the TATA. No doing, I wonder if they are still busy that they dont need a sale? I think they had one around new years last year. I will hold out until then to see if anything pops up.
